Equine professionals are always striving to unlock the door to winning results.  Charmayne James has done this with Gill’s Bay Boy, also affectionately known as “Scamper”.  Charmayne and Scamper dominated the barrel racing world for a decade.  Charmayne owns the unduplicated feat of eleven world championship gold buckles in the WPRA, ten she earned aboard Scamper, and the eleventh on “Cruiser”.  Scamper and Charmayne’s list of accolades are endless and include Scamper’s induction into the PRCA Hall of Fame, as well as Charmayne’s place in the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame, National Cowboy Hall of Fame, and Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame.

 

When Charmayne went on the road with Scamper she took popped milo with her.  If Charmayne had to feed something else, she could always tell a huge difference in the performance of her horse. Throughout her career, Charmayne never picked up an endorsement from a feed company  because she had no desire to use any other product. She had a feed that worked for her horse – a homemade ration that’s now publicly known as Scamper’s Choice.  Scamper’s Choice is an updated formula of the feed ration that’s been Scamper’s sole diet since the early 1980s. It was his diet through rigors of hauling for 10 world titles as well as in his retirement.
